Alhamdolillah! Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic Studies is celebrating a decade of wealth of knowledge and service to the Ummah and the community.

 

Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic Studies was established in 2006 with Shaykh Oves teaching two students. It now has a staff of four teaching and guiding 200 students.

 

Shaykh Oves and Shaykh Anees, the administrators and teachers, have studied Islam extensively throughout the world. Their quest for knowledge has taken them to Darul-Ulooms, Islamic Seminaries in the U.S., Canada, India, England and Egypt. Shaykh Oves and Shaykh Anees have been a part of the Muslim community of B.C. for more than 30 years.

 

The staff of Darul Qur’an Institute have more than 25 years of teaching experience between them. The students are taught to read the Qur’an with proper recitation and with Tajweed, memorization of Soorahs, the life of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, Tahaarah, respect and honour of parents and many other Islamic subjects. The students are also taught and are given training on how to deliver speeches and how to lead the five daily Salaah and Taraaweeh Salaah. Shaykh Oves and Shaykh Anees also specialize in teaching and training students to memorize the entire Qur’an. With the blessings of Allah, many Hafidh-ul-Qur’ans are graduating from the Madrasah. There are many students of the Madrasah who have memorized 5, 10, 15 and even 20 parts of the Qur’an and Insha’Allah, many students will complete the memorization of the Qur’an and be a source of blessings for the community.

 

With the help of Allah, guidance of their dear father, Qari Abdul Wahab, and the Duaas and support of the community the Madrasah is progressing well and the community is benefiting from the services offered by Darul Qur’an Institute.

 

The purpose of Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic studies is to provide not only Islamic education to boys and girls but to give them the knowledge and skills to live as proper Muslims in Canada who are Hafidh-ul-Qur’an and who are peaceful, law abiding and productive citizens of Canada. May Allah accept the efforts of the staff for the Deen of Allah.

 

Prime Minister of Canada Mr. Justin Trudeau and Members of Parliament have visited our institute.

 

Some of the main activities performed at Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic Studies are, but not limited to;

• In addition to our Islamic studies programs we also offer personal counseling sessions for students, anti-gang seminars, anti-criminal seminars, anti-bullying seminars, anti-drug seminars, anti-extremism seminars, and other beneficial seminars.
• We offer career guidance and career counseling to our mature and senior students including boys and girls. We invite doctors, software engineers, police officers, accountants, and engineers etc to speak with the students and offer valuable advice.
• We also invite politicians to speak to the students to become more involved in the community and take part in politics.
• The local RCMP, firefighters and members of the Canadian Armed Forces also visit the institute and offer their advice and support.
• We offer leadership training, public speaking skills, team building skills, self confidence building skills, personal development skills etc.
• Throughout the year we also offer extra-curricular activities such as I’tikaaf, go-kart, paint-ball, picnics, swimming, laser tag, camping, BBQ’s, amongst other fun and youth oriented activities.
